How The GCBA Got Started

Realizing the need for an organization that would allow Garden City businesses to better support each other, Kerry Partin, from Garden City Community Chat, and Kelly Perkins, owner of Guardian Martial Arts, came up with the idea for the Garden City Business Alliance. They invited local businesses to attend a kick off meeting.

Since then, the group has grown. Regular monthly meetings have been held, a Facebook group has been set up, and the GCBA website has been launched. The group is now a formal structure.

Small businesses working together can help each of us be better merchants, offer more to our customers, and be a good neighbor to our community. This is the inspiration for the brand new Garden City Business Alliance.

Mission Statement

The Garden City Business Alliance is a resource for the citizens, business owners, and community of Garden City, Michigan.

Our objectives are to create an extended support network for fellow business owners, offer an improved shopping experience for our customers, and work with the city to make our community a better place to live.

We will do this by employing the energy, expertise, and talent of the Garden City business community.
